Academic Requirements – Prerequisite Courses
Candidates are responsible for organizing and completing all prerequisites outlined below. If you have specific questions regarding requirements, please contact the admissions office.
It is the responsibility of the Admissions Committee to assure that our veterinary school selects those students with academic qualities that will allow for success in their medical studies, as well as attributes and experiences that will result in a skilled and empathic veterinarian with a high degree of professionalism and strong communication skills. It is the goal of the faculty, through the work of this committee, to admit students who will make a positive contribution to the educational environment of the VMCVM and who will be the next generation of superb veterinarians to graduate from the VMCVM.
- Students must earn a "C-" or better in all prerequisite courses.
- Prerequisite courses in which a "D" or "F" was earned must be repeated. Both the original and repeat grades will be included in grade point calculations for the cumlative and last-45 GPA. For any repeated science prerequisite, the highest grade will be used.
