DVM White Coat Ceremony

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine’s Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2029 will receive their white coats during a ceremony held on Monday, April 19, 2027, at 6 p.m. in Burruss Auditorium. The event will also be live-streamed, and we will share those details closer to the event.

Ceremony information for participants:

No Tickets Required

• The Burruss Auditorium has great capacity for students and guests, and guests will not be limited.
• Seating, however, is on a first-come, first-served basis. Student participants' seating is reserved.

Arrival for DVM White Coat Ceremony

• The ceremony will be held at the Burrus Auditorium, located at 800 Drillfield Avenue. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the ceremony begins promptly at 6 p.m.

Dress

• Dress for this event is business casual.

Parking

• Parking is available on Perry Street and the Drillfield. View the interactive campus map and campus closures map for more information.
• All visitors will need to display a parking permit, utilize the ParkMobile app, pay the daily charge for a pass, or pay for parking using an hourly meter when parking on Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. On-campus parking is available on a first-come basis. Please allow ample time to navigate campus and locate a parking spot.

Format

• The ceremony will last approximately 120 minutes. 

Photography

• A professional photographer will take pictures of each student and photos will be made available free of charge. Guests are welcome to take photos and/or videos during the ceremony at appropriate times and locations.

After the ceremony

• Photo opportunities will be available. More information coming soon.
