Hello!

My name is Riana Bobes and I am a first year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health Student. I am from Elkins, West Virginia, and I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology and Russian Studies at WVU. I took a gap year between finishing my degree and applying for veterinary school. I worked at a mixed practice clinic in a rural area that primarily focused on cats, dogs, and equine.

I enjoy being a student at VMCVM for a variety of reasons, but two of the main reasons are that I have a plethora of opportunities for hands-on experience and the generous faculty support of the health and mental wellness of students. They truly care about the students and wish for us all to succeed.

Currently, I plan on tracking Public/Corporate within the Veterinary Program. I am interested in anatomic pathology, disease processes, and the international and domestic aspects that could be applied within the field of veterinary medicine. As a Master of Public Health student, I will focus on infectious disease.
