Bio

My name is Michael and I am from Northern Virginia (shout out NOVA!), but am very familiar with Blacksburg as I went here for undergraduate school and have family here as well. I am small-animal focused, but plan on tracking mixed animal because of the multitude of great doctors we have to learn from here at VMCVM. I have wanted to become a veterinarian since I was thirteen years old, and VMCVM has always been my number one school to fulfill that dream. As mentioned, I went to Virginia Tech for college where I was a member of the Pre-Veterinary club which exposed me to a lot of the great things about VMCVM. The great thing about this profession is that everyone around you WANTS to succeed because one day they will be your colleagues! VMCVM has a great culture of support, engaging professors of every discipline, and students with a very strong drive to contribute to veterinary medicine. These were all reasons I chose to attend once I got in, but by no means an exhaustive list. Vet school is hard, but the effort you put in is what you get out and keeping up your life outside of school can keep you afloat in the hardest times. If you are curious about VMCVM, vet school as a whole, the application process, or anything of that regard feel free to email me at michaelp19@vt.edu
