Nadia Khan
- Track: Food Animal
Bio
Hi there! My name is Nadia Khan and I am a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park and originally from Bowie, Maryland.
I am a Food Animal tracker focusing on large and small ruminants. My passion for large animal medicine is one of the main reasons why I chose VMCVM. The system-based curriculum is designed for us to learn what is necessary to become effective, efficient, and ethical veterinarians. No matter what species you want to work with, you can get a taste of everything while having the opportunity to focus on what your post-graduate goals are. Plus, the curriculum is designed with the perfect balance between lectures and hands-on animal labs to keep us motivated and remind us of why we are truly here.
My favorite part of VMCVM which I immediately found once I became a student, is the community. Everyone involved including the staff, professors, clinicians, upperclassmen, and even our peers, are dedicated to our success. We all share opportunities, knowledge, and resources like its candy! Regardless of your background or experience level, there is a place to start, learn, or teach. Outside of class, the clubs and extracurriculars here are diverse and you can find people with all different interests. They provide countless opportunities to get hands-on experience and to network with clinicians and classmates. There is always something to do, and some cute critter to see.
Outside of school, I enjoy trying new foods, fashion, riding horses, and spending time with my sweet cat Calianna. I am happy to answer any questions about our school, to mentor, or just be someone to bounce ideas off of. Contact me at mknadia@vt.edu.
