Bio

My name is Madi Bryant and I am from Bethesda, Maryland. I am on the small animal track and my interest is primarily specialty medicine, particularly cardiology or internal medicine. Eventually, I would love to work at a veterinary school and become a clinical professor, so I can still practice medicine while teaching the next generation of veterinarians. Many of our professors have become role models for me and are the reason that academia sparked my interest. Faculty and staff here truly want to see us succeed, and oftentimes go above and beyond to support us. In addition to the incredible teaching staff, I also really like the helical curriculum structure here. Each time a topic is reintroduced, I am able to better understand and solidify it, ensuring that it will be readily available to me when I need it as a doctor. Lastly, there are so many invaluable opportunities that are accessible to us as students at VMCVM. I am involved in many clubs across multiple disciplines, have a job in the teaching hospital, and recently became president-elect of the student chapter of the AVMA at our school. Rather than solely relying on the course material and foundational knowledge, VMCVM provides us with opportunities that further shape our development, which will make us more wholly prepared and competent as veterinarians. Being a student here has allowed me to thrive both as a veterinary professional and a person; I owe this growth to the tight-knit, diverse, expansive, and supportive community that is unique to VMCVM. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to hear more about life as a student here, I would be more than happy to help! My email is madisonbryant@vt.edu
