Bio

My name is Paige, and I am part of the class of 2027. I am from Crofton, Maryland and completed my undergraduate education at Ohio State. I plan to track small animal, but I also have an interest in cattle and am an active member of the Food Animal Practitioners Club at VMCVM. After graduation I hope to work at an accredited veterinary school or in a private practice role where I have the chance to mentor young veterinarians entering the field.

One of the reasons why I chose VMCVM is the hands-on opportunities included in the curriculum and clubs. Within the first semester we learn how to do physical exams on dogs, cattle, and horses, which allows us to have more time before clinical rotations to get comfortable with conducting a thorough physical exam. We also get to enter clinical rotations after our second year of instruction, which gives us a head start to see how classroom knowledge can be applied to clinical settings. The clubs have great wet labs, which makes it easy to get involved on campus. Some of the labs I have been a part of this year have been conducting pregnancy ultrasounds on goats, trimming sheep hooves, and assisting with a c-section lab on cattle.
