Torun Carlson

Bio

Hi! My name is Torun and I am from New Kent, Virginia. I studied biology at UVA and lived in Charlottesville for a few years post grad before deciding to apply to vet school. One of the things I love about VMCVM is that we are afforded multiple opportunities each semester to work with various live animals. Although I enjoy learning about and working with large animals and horses, I am tracking small animal. As a student I have become involved in a club geared towards small animal pets called Companion Animal Club. Through this club, I have had opportunities to try new skills in wet labs, listen to presentations about topics that are auxiliary to the curriculum, and meet clinicians from our Community Practice for case rounds. Outside of school I enjoy practicing hot yoga, playing with my cat, Mojo, and going to thrift stores with my friends.
