Jordyn Fantasia
- Track: Mixed Animal
Bio
Hi, I’m Jordyn Fantasia and I am a Mixed Animal tracker in the class of 2027! I’m from Ashburn, VA and I studied Biology at James Madison University for undergrad. My veterinary interests include equine, small animal, and emergency medicine. I chose Virginia-Maryland because I value our school’s dedication to cultivating a welcoming, supportive, community in a field that can be known for its competition & intensity (getting to be in beautiful Blacksburg was an added bonus!) Additionally, I believe that the unique structure of our curriculum makes learning and retaining content much more accessible. We don’t just see information once and then not again until years later; our material is all integrated so we can become comfortable with it and learn how to apply what we’re learning to real clinical cases. Since being at Virginia-Maryland, I’ve most enjoyed getting to work with new species that I don’t have much experience with, and learning from my peers who have different backgrounds than me. When I’m not studying, I like to read, spend time outside, and play with my cat, Louis! I’m always happy to talk about vet school and life at Virginia-Maryland, so please feel free to reach out to me to chat at fantasjd@vt.edu :)
