Olivia Walton
- Track: Mixed Animal
Bio
Hi my name is Olivia Walton! I am a mixed animal tracker from Bel Air, MD. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in animal science. Choosing VMCVM was a no brainer for me. In high school and undergrad, I had the pleasure to work with some recent alumni from VMCVM who always discussed their amazing experiences while attending veterinary school. I was also impressed early on with VMCVM by the fact that one of the alumni was in clinics his second year summer. Being on clinics so early on in his schooling demonstrated that this school is confident with their teaching abilities to send their students on clinics before most other veterinary schools. After gaining my own experiences as a student at this school, I can see why the alumni enjoyed their time here. Within the first week, my class was already performing labs with live animals and applying what we had learned just hours before to those same labs. Witnessing the clinical significance of what we are learning made me realize how putting in the work of studying for my classes will pay off in the end. In addition, the staff at VMCVM truly make their students feel confident within their abilities to become a veterinarian after this process. It has been such a relief to be in an environment where the staff is not perpetuating a competition between their students. They really do not want to see their students fail. Having the opportunity to be a student at VMCVM is something I am always grateful to be experiencing.
